I could take a risk and try NOT using Opera for a week! Egad! I don't think I could do it! I've learned to depend Daily on Opera Notes and Opera Link (synch) and 1 key shortcuts, the built in Download manager, and since I'm using a netbook, with Windows 7 Release Candidate, every other browser is notably S-L-O-W & unusable.

I think I'll pass on this challenge :)

I've had enough memory and freezing issues with Firefox and IE. I'm giving both Chrome and Opera a fresh look. This is the right time to spread the market share around to developers who are following standards and innovating.

Before I post this message, I'll save it in the note, just in case something would go bad.

Very happy Opera user albeit 10.5 beta, I've had problems upgrading to the final 10.5 release probably because they wanted it ready for the Microsoft ballot. I don't use widgets or the inbuilt bit torrent client but it's nice to have the option to use them if needed for the rest i think the Opera Browser is awesome. My favorite feature clicking the left of the screen to have the panels fly out.

Tall Claim ! You can say that if you talk about a lot less features , For me widgets are just a minute subset of AIR , basically what Mozilla Prism , Google Gears and Titanium RIA set out for but each one of them miserably failed.

People always say that new versions of browsers are released to early. That's nothing to worry about.

Can't really see a lot of issues, to be honest. Not more than normal in a browser.

Pretty vague there. You can easily customize Opera to do whatever it used to if it's different now by default.

Opera user since 1997. Used Chrome for a couple weeks, until Opera came out with 10.50.

IMO, it is awesome that Opera finally has a worthy competitor.

With Chrome and Opera battling for the fastest browser, we can count on that competition keeping the idea of fast browsing as a top factor of any decent browser.

since Mozilla abandoned, and began to push the FFox yo users - I decided to try [color=red]o[/color]pera, cos i hate buggy LEGO browser.
Plus of monobloc browser like Opera - no need to think how to make it work as should. And no trouble with viruses.
I'm operafan)) But I do not think it's a good idea to use 10.50. It is awful, cradle of bugs((( Try 10.10!

Don't forget to enable single key shortcuts (Ctrl+F12, Advanced, Shortcuts). This way, you can change tab with "1" and "2", go back with "z" and forward with "x", zoom with "+" & "-"...

Pressing "/" or "." to search is incredibly fast and convenient.

Also, check out Opera link. It syncs your bookmarks, created searches, personal bar, notes... Notes are very useful, I use them all the time to take quick notes (a mere F4 click away), and you can also select text from a website and copy it to a note. Later on, double click on that note (the title), and you're back in the original site.

You closed a tab too soon. No worries, if you're not in a text field, Ctrl+z will get it back. If you need to recover an older tab, just have a look at the bin in the tab bar.

Opera Unite is wonderful if you happen to find apps that fill a gap for you.

Finally, the built in mail client is quite good (and very fast). Actually, some people use Opera just for its mail client, even if they don't use it as a browser.

Man, I am telling you, have you ever met people who get it right and then miss just that one thing that could make it succeed?

Boy are really, really dumb to lose so many for such a small thing.

Do that and I dump firefox and chrome in a heartbeat. I loved Opera for years.

Funny, I've switched to Opera half an hour ago :)
A month or so ago, I decided to make Chrome my default browser instead of Firefox (actually, Minefield). It annoyed me a lot that getting up and running with FF meant almost half a minute (and I have only a few extensions installed). So I decided to use Chrome, but today I found out that Opera boots even faster.
I still use Firefox for web development, but I'm starting it now as if I would start Eclipse - "Ok, I have to work now, let's start Firefox"...
